Remote Access - Port Forwarding

Server Version#: Version 4.157.0
Player Version#: Windows / Brave

Hi. Sorry in advance, I’m a newbie to this. I’ve tried to follow the guide to get remote viewing set up. I’m trying to set up a port on my router and I’m on this page - sorry about the language, I live in Spain but hopefully it makes sense.

I’m adding the information as such:

Nombre: Plex

Direccion IP: The IP that shows on https://canyouseeme.org/

Protocolo: TCP

WAN: 32400:32400

LAN: 32400:32400

However, it won’t let me add the rule with this. Am I missing something?

Thanks so much!

is the ip of the Plex Server

^^^ Precisely.

Additonally, I recommend to use a different random port number for the WAN port. (pick one from 20,000–50,000)
Then put this exact same number into the Plex configuration, at Settings - [server] - Remote Access - ‘Show Advanced’ - “Manually specify public port”

@OttoKerner hi, thanks for your help, it seems to be working  much appreciated, have a great day!

Oh one more question - it won’t work with a VPN on, is that correct?

If you use a VPN on the Plex server machine, see to it that it supports “Split-tunneling”. What it does is exempting certain apps from the VPN.
Connections between Plex clients and the Plex server are already encrypted. I don’t see sense in encrypting it a second time.

Thank you

I reset my router earlier and this is no longer working, I’m not sure if I’m missing something.

My settings are:

Direccion IP: The IP that shows on the remote page (the one listed as ‘private’

Protocolo: TCP

WAN: 31000:31000

LAN: 32400:32400

It doesn’t connect.

I’ve been having problems with Plex all day, I’m not sure if it’s related.
