Remote Access - Server Not Available outside your network

Per the quote below, it may have something to do with the FIOS router. I hope they can solve it. But as you say other servers have it working. I’m using My Media for Alexa for now with no issues.

My Media… Looking into that now! I have the amazon and other services down, but if I can get access to “My Media” I would be a happy camper and this looks like it will do just that!!!

I’ve had the issue of not being able to see Plex from outside my local network. I also had a problem where one of my computers on my home network was not seeing the laptop I’m running Plex Server on. So I searched for a fix for that and came up with changing two services on the laptop which allowed me to find it on my home network once again and as a happy coincidence noticed that Plex is now accessible outside my network. The services I changed were “Function Discovery Provider Host” and “Function Discovery Resource Publication”. Both were set to manual and I changed them to Automatic. You might try that, it seemed to work for me.

Thanks @bpipper that allowed Alexa to play from the Plex server for the first time! It seems a bit erratic, but at least I got a couple songs out.

With recent change to Windows Function Discover network settings, Alexa now works but only plays one song then quits. If I tell Alexa next or skip it will do one more song.
