Remote Access turns itself off after varying amount of time

After reading the Troubleshoot posts and several threads in this forum without finding a solution, I’m hoping to find some help here.

Everytime I enable Remote Access it turns green. Sometimes for only 30sec (I already know it turns green while still trying to establish a connection), sometimes it stays green for a couple of minutes. After that it becomes unavailable.

I’ve tried both UPnP as well as manual port forwarding, I don’t have Double NAT or GC-NAT, I have no IPs blocked, I don’t have any specific firewall rules implemented and I’m running Plex as a docker container.

If you need some logs please let me know.

Have you verified your forwarded port is accessible from outside your home network and the public IPv4 address listed is the same on your router (WAN IP) and if you check e.g. via canyouseeme.org?

Public IPv4 is the same but I get an error checking with the website you linked.

However, I just gave a friend access to my library and they can stream, I see their stream on the “Now playing” tab while Remote Access still claims it is not accessible.

That implies there’s something going on between your ISP, „the internet“ and your router (incl. both endpoints)… could be a limitation/restriction by the ISP (e.g. blocked ports) or some bad configuration on your router (e.g. some typo in the port forwarding)…

I suppose that stream is listed as Indirect?

Indeed. I didn’t know about the Relay function.

I did find the solution though. When I said the IPv4 was the same, I didn’t notice my ISP is using DS-Lite and my router does not even have an IPv4 address anymore. I called my ISP, they gave me a IPv4 address and now it’s saying “XX.XX.XX.XX (Remote).”

Thanks for taking your time.

Are you using a wireless connection from your host or wired?
