Remote access won’t allow direct connection

Server Version#:1.19.5.3112
Player Version#:7.4

My remote access has suddenly decided to stop functioning properly after years of nearly flawless operation. I have tried both manual and automatic port forward settings, to no avail. On some other posts there were suggestions to try seeing if the port was open at canyouseeme.org which would always say “connection timed out”. Another suggestion was to log into my router via https://x.x.x.x:32400. When I tried this I got the warning from my browser that the certificate was invalid. So perhaps this is a security/permissions issue but I have no clue why the router itself would have a bad SSL. Any ideas where I should look?

A mi me pasa ahora lo mismo y no se que hacer ya…
usted pudo solucionarlo?
si lo solucionó, me podría indicar que hizo?
gracias

Apologies, I don’t speak Spanish fluently so I hope this post helps you.

I did fix my issue. After lots of looking it turned out that Plex had two entries in the Windows Firewall. One was set for only public connections and the other was set for all private connections. So I suppose there were some requests that made it through the firewall but it couldn’t quite make a solid connection. I suspected there might be some libraries that might be depending on one entry and some that needed the other, so I set both entries to get through the firewall no matter what. Deleting one might have caused some confusion.

Just type “windows defender firewall” into the start menu search bar and open the top result, click on “allow and app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall” on the left column. This should bring up the list of allowed apps. Click Change Settings on the right. If plex server is installed on your machine it should have an entry. In my case, and hopefully yours so you can get fixed up, there were 2 entries for Plex. Make sure both have both Public and Private checked off. Click OK, and you should be all set.

Hope that helps, take care
