I have Plex Media Server running on my UGREEN Nas in Docker. I’m running version 1.40.2. I keep trying to set up Remote access and it lights up green for a few minutes then stops working. I have a Fios Gateway Router set to bridge mode. I am using Google’s Nest Wifi Pro 6E and the wifi node in near the server is connected via ethernet and a Netgear switch. I have opened port 34200 on the Nest Wifi and the Fios router. What am I doing wrong?
not sure what you mean by “opened”. is that just allowing in firewall? did you actually port forward in Nest? ( if Fios device is only acting as a modem should not need to there)
since you are using docker is that set to use the host networking?
Thanks for responding. I meant port forwarding. Sorry I’m a big of a noob to all this. I assumed I have to use the Fios modem. Can I just plug my Nest WiFi Pro to the ethernet cable coming in from the Fios fiber cable box? Again apologies for my ignorance. I’m still learning.
You only need your ISP modem if you are alo using phone and/or TV service and that box is handling those as well. If not, yes you simply plug in your Nest direct.
I don’t know what features the FIOS box has but if you are using it in bridge mode then I would expect that you only need to plug via ethernet the Nest wifi into one of the ports in the FIOS. Then all other devices should be then using the Nest so they are all getting assigned IPs via the Nest so they are all on the same LAN/subnet.
So the NEST should show your actual external IP for the WAN. If it is showing a standard sort of internal IP like 192.168.0.1 as the WAN then you have a double NAT.
