Server Version#: 1.15.6.1079 (I downgraded from the most recent 1.16.xxx due to not having a problem before. I thought something changed with plex, but noticed no change.)
Player Version#: 3.104.1
So I noticed this problem show up within the last week. Remote connection shows unavailable, but I can still stream media from my phone if I’m not using the wifi. In fact, all of my users can access the server with no problems.
I’ve done your basic troubleshooting, but I noticed something extremely weird while checking my dashboard.
I haven’t had any remote bandwidth tracked since April 22. But in the last 90 days, 3 of my users have watched a total of 5 days of videos.
I had a friend try to stream a movie, and my remote data way 0 while my local was spiking. Is that normal?
What logs can I send to help someone get a better picture of what is going on here?
Canyouseeme.org comes back with no connection. My ISP apparently can’t give me access to the router I’m renting from them.
I did have them verify a port forwarding was set up.
But when I use that, 192.168.X.X:32400 > 173.X.X.X:16966 shows no connection.
They verified the IPs and Ports. Now, I didn’t manually put them in. They just auto populated.
Going off of that, I decided to power cycle my router/modem.
Lo and behold, I get the green check on my remote access.
I can’t verify it, but there could’ve easily been a secondary protocol set up for the plex, and it may have been causing issues. The reset seems to have cleared that, and created the forward with no issues.
Canyouseeme.org now comes back with a success. Well, that’s awesome.
