Remote control from Android Plex client

Is anyone else having problems getting the Android Plex client to work as a remote?

 

I've just installed 0.1.35 on a 512MB model B, and think this could be exactly what I've been after, but... the Android app (v2.5.4.3 on both Nexus 4 and Nexus 7) finds my server (on a MacBook) and Rasplex, asks where I want to play the media, and when I choose Rasplex it switches to remote but the media doesn't start and the remote buttons don't control Rasplex.

 

Remote control from Plex clients is enabled, and I've rebooted. Any ideas?
