Remote controller for NUC Server

Presently my Media is on a WD MyBook duo connected via USB to a NUC:
i5 1340P
16 Gb Ram
1 Tb Samsung Nvms SSD 970 plus holding tge PLEX server.
Windows 11 Pro

This in turn is connected to my EE router.

I have a Fire Cube 4K holding the PLEX client App that I can control using the Fires remote control.

The Plex client app keeps crashing, I need help with a remote controller that I can use to bypass the fire tv cube and control the NUC playback.

Have you considered using Plex HTPC and using the mobile app companion function. Works great for me.

Thank you for replying, I hadn’t heard of Plex HTPC but would prefer to use a small remote like the one controller for the Fire TV cube…I’m unsure what to buy that doesn’t require you to be a computer programmer to get it to work.

Well either way. Some level of configuration will be required to get it working with Plex. I don’t think it’ll be an out of the box plug and play situation. If you’re going down that road there are some guides scattered under support depending on the remote or controller you choose to buy.

Do a search for “Flirc remote”. I used to use one a long time ago to control my Mythbuntu media centre on a PC. It was simple to set up and it worked well.

Many thanks for replying, yes, I’ll look into that option.
