When I open plex on my android phone the home page will not load but if click on another link on the left side and wait for that page to open then back to the home it will load. I’m on the latest version as of today 11-13-24 and am running android 14. I can reproduce the same results on different phones mainly Moto G Used to work great but the last few updates just broke it. This is what I have tried to fix:
- uninstall Plex and reinstall
- clear the storage and clear the cache files
- factory reset phones
If I roll back to an older version I can get it working but not sure if that’s the safest option.
Any thoughts?
Crickets again, I must stay Ive had much better conversations and help on other sites. For those of you that have the same problem(most of you just do a web search) and you’ll see just how bad it is to get help from Plex. Id recommend going her for help
(https://www.reddit.com/) instead of Plex. Still having the same issue it appears to be a wide spread problem with lots of snake oil fixes that haven’t worked. Ive been slowly moving to Jellyfin as a replacement. Little harder to set up but its completely free and open source with a large community that is heavily engaged with very helpful folks eager to help.
12/18/20 Still no help or change. Plex You should be ashamed of yourself. If you want folks like me any other to buy in to your services now or later start by helping the hand that feeds you. I know I can speak for many that we are very disappointed in how bad the support is from you guys.
Try changing this server setting, under
Settings - [server] - Network - “Secure connections”
back from “required” to “preferred”.
Particularly if the above issue only occurs while using the mobile device at home, in the same local network as your server.
It can’t hurt to try and perform a thorough repair of the server database, trying to fix any inconsistencies in or damages of certain index tables, on which certain clients are depending to build the home page.
Use the .bat file directly on the server machine.
