I'm unable to find an existing question about this, but is there any word on when the mobile remotes (android/ios) will work with the xbox 360 and xbox one apps?
Is there a feature list somewhere?

While it's NOT Plex remote, you can still use SmartGlass to navigate it.
I use this..
works great!!!
I also use the MS remote, but is there a way for it to control volume?

Do you have your xbox one set up to respond to volume up/volume down via connect? If you have the tv controls setup for kinect the remote volume up/down should work then.
I think the best feature they could add to the Xbox One app in terms of remote control would be to allow us to use the Plex for Android/iOS app and play to. In case you haven't seen it before - the Plex app has a button that looks very much like the ChromeCast button where you can select a plex client to play to. You can then browse your library on your phone/tablet/plex web UI and start playing content on the Plex client. Unfortunately, this is not yet supported on the Xbox One version (which in my opinion is the biggest missing feature right now). Hopefully that changes in the next release.
I use the Xbox remote from Microsoft. It is absolutely the best thing I bought for my xbox (I use it more than my controller lol)
I have my xbox linked with my surround sound system through HDMI. When I use the volume on the MS remote, it controls the volume on my surround sound system. Further more, if I turn the sound system into passthrough mode (turns off and direct connects to TV) it controls the volume on my TV the same way.
So, $25 WELL spent.
The Harmony remote works with the XB1 which is pretty cool too :)
Yea I got 3 of them so my family doesn't need to fight over who has the remote. Between this remote, standard xBox controllers, SmartGlass, Voice and hand gestures it's pretty tough to not be able to control Plex on the xBox.

No, I want a remote on my watch! lol
(dont have smart watch, dont really want one...lol)
Am I the only one that hates this remote, or do I just have a bad one? The features and functions are great, the light up when you pick it up is awesome. But it needs a firm press to do things, I really have to use a bit of force, as it just ignores me otherwise.

mine was like that when I first got it. it got better over a short amount of time. I assumed it was just because when I got it, it had been sitting outside in the cold for a while.

Let me get right on that for you. :)
Laugh if you want but I've had a CASIO digital watch for 20 years now that works as a universal remote. I used to have so much fun with that in pubs messing with the bartenders, etc
Forgot all about as I don't usually wear a watch anymore. However, with my new Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has a universal remote built into it. Might have to try the "old games" again.
Carlo
Harmony remotes work just dandy.
yep,
the harmony works great for this. only nuisance with the harmony is controlling your DVR menu (playback controls are fine). that's only an issue if you watch TV through the xbox as well, and even so there are relatively simple workarounds.
