I’m a new user, having downloaded only last week and think the software is absolutely fantastic.
I just need a little advice from you experts though, on whether I can achieve the following functionality or alternatively whether someone thinks its something they could achieve for me with a financial incentive!
Basically what I’m trying to do is set up a mac mini that I can sell to clients which will enable them to view better than dvd quality video clips for approval. The clips are generally around 40 seconds in length, but I find the current buffering option too short to allow the clips to play successfully from an ftp site without stopping/pausing. The files are typically between 30-50 megs which is fine on a 10 mb connection but not on a 1mb.
My first point therefore is can the buffering be increased to say over 1 minute or is there a way the clips can be locally cached before playback?
My next request is can the interface be locked down, so that the client cannot access any preferences (and therefore mess it up) without a password?
and finally can the display be locked to simply show the video lists only or at least have the lower scrolling info and weather tab removed?
Any thoughts, advice greatly appreciated.
