Remote libraries not found on all devices after most recent update

Not tech savvy, but have been running a Plex server from my windows desktop for remote streaming from all devices (Roku TV, iPhone, iPad Pro) for more than a year. Following the updates and changes to remote streaming requirements (Plex Pass required, to be specific) I now have only local access. If I am not connected to local WiFi, my devices cannot detect my libraries.

-My desktop server is active, settings shows libraries should be accessible remotely, and VPN split tunneling is properly set up (but the libraries are unfound whether the VPN is running or not).

-Most recent server update has been installed, and I have restarted the computer following the installation.

Not sure what to try at this point. Very frustrating, needless to say—I appreciate that Plex may have needed to change it’s policies and increase the Plex Pass price to continue sustainably, and I’ll happily pay it, but I’m now paying the monthly fee for a setup that appears to have been bugged and disabled by the update itself. Nothing else has changed in the setup or local server.

Appreciate any tips, thanks so much!

i have the same Issue.

On every Device (Chromcast, Android, FireTVStick, Windows App) since i updated Plex Media Server to the recend Version i cant connect to my Localy (On a NAS [TrueNas, same Host]) Library.

I can only can get it to work when i Explicit Pick the Ip Adress inside a Browser of the MediaServer (runs in a Docker Container over TrueNas (UpToDate)).

the Container is from Docker.io.
Inside Plex it dont have a new Update. This happens since i Updated the Media Server. I even updated TrueNas from 23.x to 25.x because i thopught that could be maybe the issue, at least i got the latest Docker Container after Update TrueNas.

Even Resetting the Apps on the other devices and Reclaim the Media Server to my Main Account didnt help.

I only get the Messeage inside the https://app.plex.tv/desktop/ website “Cant connect Securily”. when i cchange the setting in the Server to Required he cant find the Server anymore.

Any Advice what could make this happens?

EDIT: Every Device is connectet with the same Local Network.
i think i had the issue even with the version before. that was the Latest Version i could install directly over TrueNas

Is that fee only required for remote access (from outside one’s LAN, I assume)?

Yep, since a few weeks you need Plex Pass to Use your Library outside of the Local Network of Your Server.

Right, but if I’ve already paid for “lifetime” that’s included in that one-time price, correct?

should be. because LifeTime is just an third Option to “Subscribe” to Plex Pass the other Options are Recuring Payments.

At least i could find the issue on my End, after the update the IP Adress of that Docker Container changed. i had to set the checkBox in TrusNas. I only found that out because i used The Plex “Browser App” (https://app.plex.tv/desktop) with open Developer Tools (F12)

other way to find the Ip Adress of the Server is to try enabling Remote-Access ? (Fernzugriff in german). that your Ip Adresse is visible. mine was 127.10.2.1 or something … not even close to my Local network ^^.

just Check this Option if someone has a same Issue. Sry that i cant help with a Windows Host,
