Remote pass for sharing library overseas

I have shared my library to my partner, who is currently working in Russia. She’s using Plex on her laptop and running it through a VPN.

The invite worked fine, she can see my library. When she goes to play the content, it starts briefly and then a window pops up to say you need a remote pass to continue watching etc.

This end in the UK, I’m currently on a 14 day free trial for the remote pass, but she’s still getting the prompt to pay for the remote pass. My free trial will end and roll on to a subscription, but there will be little point if she still can’t use it her end.

Any ideas why the remote pass hasn’t been recognised her end?

A Remote Watch Pass is only valid for the subscriber who bought it.
It cannot be shared with other accounts.
Your partner would need a RWP of their own.

Only a full Plex Pass on the server owner account can grant automatically remote streaming benefit to all shared user accounts (when streaming from that server).

Ah.. thanks for clarifying.. I totally misunderstood what the remote pass was doing then. are there any free trials of the Plex pass? I don’t really need any of the other pass features

There are no free trials. But you can buy a monthly subscription and cancel it if it doesn’t do what you expect.
