Remote Server offline since iOS update

Hello

I can’t reach my Plex server from a remote network which worked fine before the iOS update. I checked “Remote Access” and it says that it’s “fully accessible outside of your network”.

I do have a manually specified port (32400) which shouldn’t be the problem I guess.

Tried to restart, disable/enable remote access, reinstalled the app on my phone.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Which version of the mobile app do you have installed on your iOS device?
Plex have introduced a new restriction to remote streaming from personal or shared servers. This currently only applies to the mobile apps (others will follow). To stream remotely…

  • you’ll need a Plex Pass OR
  • you’ll need a Watch Pass OR
  • you’ll need to stream from a shared server who’s owner has a Plex Pass

From the related blog post:

I do not have a Plex Pass, but stream remotely from a Plex Media Server:

To stream remotely starting on April 29, 2025, you will need a Remote Watch Pass or Plex Pass subscription on your account or the admin of the Plex Media Server from which you stream will need a Plex Pass subscription on their account.
