Remote streaming stopped working

I’m unable to remote stream to any app. No libraries show up. The same devices work fine with a web browser remotely and the app works fine locally.

I’m guessing this started happening on April 29th when the watch pass was introduced? I have a Lifetime Plex Pass but remote streaming is unavailable anyway.

Stop and restart your server if you haven’t done that since the 29th.

Does your phone have a device name that includes special characters, like à, ë, ü etc. or any non-latin characters?

Do you have Plex libraries that are titled in a similar way as above?

Is your server claimed into the same Plex user account that you are using to post in this here forum?

The new mobile app has no support for audio libraries and photos. Does your server only have libraries of this type? If so, install and use Plexamp and Plex Photos respectively instead.

Movies and TV only.

The remote streaming works fine in a browser, just not with any of the mobile apps. Weirdly, according to Tautulli the last time anybody connected remotely is 2nd May. But I’ve no idea what changed since then and I can’t track it down. The only thing I haven’t tried is rolling back to an earlier server version.

Jellyfin is working fine and I don’t have time for this, so that’s what I’ll be using for now. I’ll try again in a few weeks, hopefully it’ll be fixed.
