So I’m trying to fix some things, but I notice that when I delete the DVR and then add it again, the system retains all the old settings. How do I delete the DVR completely and force it to forget all the old settings and start completely fresh? But I want to throw a monkey wrench in to this, I want to be able add back in all my scheduled shows that I want to record all the time without going through the guide and adding them one at a time. I know I’m asking a lot here, and if I have to one without the other I will.
I don’t think you can reuse any of the old schedules.
Make sure all DVRs are gone from
Settings - Server - Manage - Live TV & DVR

Well, I tried that and now my Plex is completely broken and won’t open at all, even after I copied the original database file back.
Are you on Linux? If yes, verify that the ownership of the edited and/or restored database file is the same as all other files in that folder.
I’m running on Windows 10
Then restore one of the backups. And make sure that Plex server is closed while you do it. (Look for the Plex task tray icon. It must be gone.)
