Plex, I know what I’ve watched I don’t need the client doing a terrible overlay over the poster to show that I’ve watched it or at least let us turn it off.

It would be nice if this were optional — I find to be unhelpful, annoying, and just distracting visual clutter in general.
I can see the case for wishing to make it more explicit that you’ve previously viewed something, but don’t understand why that needs to be a forced and default-on change for people who don’t need/want it.
It seems to me that if this level of explicitness is deemed necessary, then the real problem lies with the yellow corner triangle / numbered box — another thing I wish you could turn off or have granular control of at the end-user level (show no difference, show unplayed, show unplayed count, show played).
Ideally (or, “in a totally different reality”) I’d love to be able to just implement my own CSS overrides so I could fade the posters for watched stuff, or just hide everything completely.
we have the orange triangle for unwatched already.
No. If you see the checkmark, you won’t see the triangle anymore in this client.
Right, currently — I’m saying that I think these checkmarks were implemented based on an opinion that the triangles were too hard to notice.
Hence, I would like to have end-user choice in terms of what is shown, if anything, as a watched status marker.
