How do I remove them from there and ensure they have no access to my PMS? I’m on Plex Version 4.125.1, Windows 10. I’ve done the basics like restarting Plex, restarting PC, etc.
Here’s an example of those users that were definitely removed, don’t show under my server anymore but are still showing under the XML file:
No, I checked that too and they’re not there either. The screenshot I updated to includes all of the users I’ve removed from my server access but still show in the XML file. Some were removed 2 weeks ago too, which is why I found it odd they’re still showing in the file.
Same exact issue on Linux/Docker. Removed users, but they still show in “users” API list. When Ombi imports current users, they are included. Issue is on Plex side since API call includes them. Any ideas how to resolve?
This seems to happen with old shared users, it doesn’t happen with new ones. If the API that you removed “https://plex.tv/api/friends/” continued to work, the users would surely be deleted and would not appear in the list “https://plex.tv/api/users/”. It seems that the API currently used “https://clients.plex.tv/api/v2/sharings” that uses the web interface, seems to only stop sharing all the libraries, I mention this because if it is added again, the user does not have to accept the invitation, the libraries appear directly.
I see there is no more responses from Plex on this.
I am having the same issue. It is causing issues with removed users and API calls from applications that have integrated authentication with Plex account like Ombi and Organizr. I have done a user purge of about 20 users from my friends list and when I do any type of user import from Plex using Ombi or Organizr, all of those 20 users show back up.
If it is some sort of bug with old users that were added and new users, is it being looked into?
Also, is there some other way to force delete users out of that XML file on plex.tv? I would really appriciate some sort of guidance on this as I have a nice set up with Ombi and Organizr with SSO and if deleted users keep being able to log in, then it could cause issues.
I am also not looking for a workaround, I am looking for something to fix, even if it is a one time “support staff can remove the users for you” type of thing.
I’m told your apps must be hitting a legacy/old endpoint for how sharing used to work with friends adn may be picked up fols listed as friends. They do not actually have access to your server.
In any case I can remove everyone from your legacy friends list unless you can give me specific ones.
. If you remove users from the legacy friends list, will that mean I have to completely re-add them? That is not a huge problem for me. Just wondering.
Yes, I would like them removed as they keep getting re-added into Ombi and Organizr which auto-grants access to those apps. I would have to change my configuration of those otherwise.
Well as i mentioned for the other folks here I can either remove every one from your legacy friend list( friends added before Discover Together was introduced) , or you can message me the username of those you want removed.
