Removed content is not marked as deleted anymore

Usually when I remove content and do a scan, the removed content is marked as removed and when I then select “Empty Trash”, then it’s removed from the library, but recently Plex stopped marking removed content as removed, it stays in the library.
What is going on here?

Verify that each of the folders which were added to the library
(to see a list, Edit your library and go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab)

  • is still present
  • is not completely empty
  • has not changed its name, or network address
  • has access permissions which allow your plex server to at least ‘read’ it

Another cause could be database corruption.
To determine whether your server is affected, do this:

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 5 minutes
  6. fetch log files and attach them here

Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.

  • No, the folder is not present anymore, I have removed them.
    I said I removed the content.
  • Folder is gone.
  • Nope.
  • Access is the same for every folder.

And, crucially, is this deleted folder still listed, if you edit your library and go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab?

When I try to add a local path, then I can browse to it, but in this case it’s a UNC path and when I use a UNC path I can’t browse to it, I have to copy/paste it.

I am not asking you to browse it.
I am asking you whether it is still in the list of folders or not.

No, I didn’t mean for you to click onto the button ‘Add Folder’.
Just go to the tab labeled ‘Add folders’. i.e. one step before

I have this problem also.

It occurs at the server level empty trash.

If you go to the library level empty trash, it works.
