Hi all. I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove Videos (listed as extras) from my Music Library? I have a very large music library that I tried to incorporate music videos into (ripped from YT to MP4 and MKV formats) my music library and it all linked in well except the Android TV client on my Nvidia Shield 2019 wouldn’t play most of them so I gave up and deleted the Video store. Only issue now is the videos still appear in the Extras subsection for each artist and I cannot figure out how to remove them.
I do not want to rebuild my music library as it contains music form around 900 artists and required a lot of blood, sweat and tears to build manually mostly using local metadata and manual labour.
If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I tested this a week ago, when you posted, but then forgot to reply.
The only way I’ve found to reliably remove extras from an artist is to Plex Dance the folder for whatever album the extras were stored in (or the entire artist). It’s not ideal, since it essentially treats that album/artist as newly-added.
It’s strange that this is required in a music library; extras in a movie library can be removed by a simple metadata refresh if the files themselves are removed.
Hi and thanks for the response. I tried your suggestion with the Plex Dance (I was really trying to avoid that) but it worked a treat so thank you very much. Meant a few more hours hard work setting things up how I liked but it worked so I am very grateful for the assistance. Cheers
Thanks, I tried both of those options a number of times and no joy so just did the Plex Dance in the end and sorted it. Refreshing Metadata wouldn’t get rid of the Extras
