Have voted for this. I was a plex user before the DVR came along, but frankly the DVR is useless until the channel order can be made usable.
+1
Iām currently having to pay for āChannelsā as I canāt live with Plex not having the option to re-order the Channels list.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add this feature, I love Plex but we need this feature asap!!!
Itās why I use channels app instead. In HD channels start at 101. So lots of scrolling every time on client devices
How is this not already a thing?
Does it help to cancel my subscription?
Really, how hard can that be to implement?
250 votes. plz halp.
Any news on if this feature is being considered? (Iāve voted)
I just set up my first DVR on my NVIDIA Shield today and I have loved watching Live TV through Plex, but the natural ordering of channels here in London as they come through from my Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD is so unintuitive. The channel editor could do with a lot more customisation functionality overall, but the main thing has to be reordering channels, it would make such a difference. Please consider it Plex team!
Like everyone, its painful having to navigate to the bottom of the tv guide just to get to the hd channels in the UK.
Please can this be implemented.
Another +1 for this. In the UK the HD channels are at 101 onwards which requires a lot of scrolling on Apple TV.
I sold my HDHomeRun quad tuner because this function was absent.
Wife just wouldnāt use it so we are still on Sky.
Rename and add multiple source of the same channel. If i receive signal from 2 antenna but one is broke or quality is lower, switch antenna
+1. DVR needs a little bit of TLC and channel organisation is essential.
+1. Very surprised this is not implemented. Might just delete non HD streams until it is implemented and lose access to some content that isnt broadcast on HD.
I was surprised this wasnāt a feature already, so I added a little feature to the TVHeadend Proxy service from jkabergās tvhproxy code. You can find it on github
I canāt submit a pull request as the upstream repo is read-only.
In case youāre not aware, some people use TVHeadend to act as a DVB-T/DVB-S tuner service, and the tvhproxy utility connects TVHeadend to Plex as though itās using an HDHomeRun. My edit allows you to filter and sort the results before they get seen by Plex, because there are a lot of channels Iāll never be interested in.
Just cancelled my subscription after 4 months. This request is over 2 years old. Seems to be too advanced stuff to program some id numbers against an editable table.
I also lurked a bit to find config files to edit this directly, no luck.
+1 for this.
This please⦠and the ability to rename as well, of course.
Columns:
- Enabled tick box
- Tuner channel
- Custom ID (tuner channel if left blank)
- Channel name/ID
- Reset icon (to restore channel name/ID to default)
- Guide channel (as it is now)
For āCustom ID,ā if value has any letters in it, then it gets treated as a Group ID and if there is more than one enabled channel with the same GID, then all channels with the same GID appear together in the list (in order they are encountered by the first matching of the group).
Allows for grouping without custom channel numbers, or just custom channel numbers.
+1 requesting this
+1 requesting this
+1 definitely needed for UK
