I gave up on Plex DVR even though Iā€™ve paid for it. Even the free NextPVR handles these basic needs. You can create your own channel groups and change channel numbers to whatever you want. Want to see only HD channels, just create a group and pick that group in the gridā€™s picklist. Want to only see only the channels that you actually watch (lots of junk channels in over the air TV), create a group. Itā€™s just an obvious need. Free programs handle it. Iā€™ve seen no improvement to the seriously deficient TV listings grid in Plex for over two years.

Having a very long random channel IDs here (thus icons are not visible, neither any sane channel name). Finally got rid of ID column text to be able clearly see channel images in plex web client. Created a very simple userscript (using Tampermonkey):

Itā€™s a temporary local solution which is not usable for wider deployment unless plex staff make this view somehow configurable (or enables channel renaming/sorting). Displaying channel name instead of itā€™s ID would be a smallest step ahead.

Bottom-line: I would never show any internal object ids to users (besides channel mapping which is done by server admins).

You really need we to vote for a basic feature on any live tv software/system???

If I could give this app 5 of my votes, I would.

Itā€™s desperately needed in regions like the UK where you have to scroll 100 channels before you get to the HD ones.

Itā€™s kinda embarrassing Plex doesnā€™t have this.

And itā€™s even more embarrassing no one from Plex will even acknowledge all of us desperate for this feature!

Voted for this a long time ago, itā€™s extraordinary that itā€™s still not available. We need the ability to re-order channels and also ā€˜show only HDā€™.

In the UK this almost makes using Plex for DVR impossible. Please prioritise!

HD only might be the only filter it actually has.

Cā€™mon, this is nuts, you canā€™t re-order or create a favourite channels list? You have to wade through a hundred shopping and kids channels to get to BBC 1 HD.

Please add reordering or favourite channels lists, preferably both.

This is a must. How do we contact right people in Plex to request this feature? Ive had a look around, but all I can see is message boards. I can believe people have been talking about this for 3 years and nothing has been done.
