Music is only available in the Plexamp app now.

There’s nothing to “fix”. Plex said this is the way it will be going forward.
The “fix” OP is asking about is related to the MediaCodecVideoRenderer error (unrelated to music)

Same issue since the latest UI revamp patch. I can’t continue shows I’ve been watching because of it.

You would have thought this would have been checked before release although the release is still just a preview, I don’t know what hardware you have but mine is deffinatley on the lower end, maybe this could play a factor, but still it is very unfortunate for us right now. I fixed this by disabling hevc video encoding (experimental) set it to never in transcode server settings and videos now transcode and work fine on Plex mobile
I simply don’t expect involuntary updates ( code push updates ) to brick an app for such a long period of time with no easy way of going back.

I have hevc encoding turned off but this still happens.

I wasn’t experimenting. This is just my setting. I don’t need to encode to HEVC.

Same problem for me.
Last night I started watching a video, today I wanted to continue but Plex App pushed an update on my device and now I cannot play it any more.
Luckily I can use VLC locally as a more stable alternative.
