I’ve been getting periodic error 1002 notices watching “ChiPS”. When I come back from the error Plex tries to show me a later episode… Couldn’t find the code “1002” in the log.
@BigWheel Finally got a chance to watch 2 episodes of “CHiPs” on the browser and it was fine. Actually, the 2nd episode I accidentally started in the Mac app, got the error code in a few seconds, which reminded me to go to the browser, which played through to the end without incident!
Seems like it’s happening either side of commercials… could be one to several times in an hour show. Also hard to get out of. The skip/retry choices don’t work well… usually close player down and get back in to resume.
Hi @DHK1,
Can you try closing the app, deleting the ~/Library/Caches/Plex folder, and starting the app again?
Let me know if this fixed the problem.
Thanks
Hey, Just writing to say we are still looking into this but the devs are having a hard time reproducing it. I see you cleared the cache earlier. Have you tried deleting the app completely preference files and all. I guessing the same issue will occur but wanted to cover all basis.
You can use something like AppCleaner to find all it’s associated files.
Sadly the problem continues… would it be helpful if I could provide a video of when it happens… I can record the screen in video and give enough info as to where/when it’s happening…
OK, here is a 3 minute excerpt of CHiPS with the error occurring 3 times… once at the start, then the 2nd break went ok, then the last 2 had the error. I’ve annotated the excerpt with what was happening, and note that at the top is a counter from when I started the recording. It’s a bit confusing because I had to cut down the show, but I hope you can figure it out. Dropbox mp4
BUMP! This is really intolerable… now in the 3rd season of CHIPS and almost every commercial break has this error… I tried using the web interface, and it’s better, but still there is some buffering. I’ve gotten so that I keep hitting the “X” of error, and retry, and eventually get the right combination, but it’s painful. Would a Zoom screen share be of any use?
