Is there any automatic way to have the media optimizer replace the original file?
Space is getting a bit tight.
No, this is not possible in an automated way.
When you do it manually, copy the optimized versions temporarily outside of the plex media folder.
Then remove the original files.
Update the library
Only after that, re-add the optimized files back to the library.
Update library again.
