Replacing windows plex server with linux but tv shows all messed up

Server Version#: 1.41.4.4963 windows

Server Version#: 1.42.1.10060 linux

I am trying to replace my clunky old windows server with a linux server and currently running them both alongside each other pointing to the same nas for the media.

I am therefore unable to change the folder structures and I have two folders for TV

plex/TV series/series name/ for current

plex/Completed TV Series/abc (def…)/series name for old and completed series.

This has worked fine for many years on the windows box however on the linux version it appears to be grouping multiple shows as multiple series under random shows

for instance…

/mnt/plex/Completed TV Series/IJKLM/Monk/Series 5/Monk.S05E03.480p.WEB.DL.nSD.x264-NhaNc3.mkv
 Delete Files
/mnt/plex/Completed TV Series/IJKLM/Love Hate/Love.Hate.S05E03.mkv
 Delete Files
/mnt/plex/Completed TV Series/IJKLM/Inside No 9/Inside.No.9.S05E03.DVDRip.x264-HAGGiS.mkv
 Delete Files
/mnt/plex/Completed TV Series/IJKLM/Jonathan Creek/Jonathan Creek S05E03.HDTV.x264-TLA.mp4

these all appear under Harry and Megan season 5 episode 3 if I do the get info.

I am not sure if this is a linux problem or a plex version problem. My windows version is behind for stability reasons.

Edit the tv shows library and verify that you only add
/mnt/plex/Completed TV Series/IJKLM/
as the source folder.
Don’t go a single folder level higher, nor lower.

I assume you also have other “index letter” folders, beside IJKLM.
You need to add each of these individually to the library.

All shows except “Monk” appear to be missing a “season” folder level. It is recommended to always add it – even if the show currently has only one season.

The release (year) appears to be missing from all the show folder titles.

There is software to quickly fix these issues. My default is Filebot

Looking back on the wondows server this is how they are mapped.
