I have a Windows 10 and Linux Plex Media Server both connected to a Samba server where I store my media. I just added a TV show and 3 out of the 5 episodes show up in Windows 10 while all 5 show up in Linux. Permissions are not an issue since I can access the files in windows. I did try to downgrade Windows to 1.22.3 to no effect. Is this a known bugs.
Which files are giving you trouble?
I suppose this could be due to bad naming… your logs show quite a number of “interesting” naming choices that can easily give Plex some hiccups. From what I’ve seen the new “Plex tv series agent” is a bit more strict than some of the older agents.
Given the logs you provided show you’ve been using the new agent (Plex Series Scanner), my guess is your Linux environment is still using another agent?
Jumping to the eye…
you seem to be eager to use shorthand names or abbreviations for your shows (e.g. handMaidsTail or kuwtk for “Keeping up with the Kardashians”)
you seem to be using disk names(?) instead of season associations (e.g. threeStooges > The Three Stooges Collection 1940-1942 Disk 1)
some of your episode files seem to be missing a clear season association (e.g. Long Way Round - Extended Cut DVD Rips > Long Way Round - Episode XX.avi)
On Linux agent is set to Plex TV Series which is working. I’ve been using the same screwed up naming since I started using Plex (6 years or so ago) and never had an issue. Moving forward I’ll look at the guide and follow along. Which doesn’t help me understand why Linux is good and Windows is failing.
I played around the the library settings and now see the two files but they are mistaken as Season 1 files for meta in the library view. When i click on them they show as season 2. So the agent doesn’t like something about these files beyond their names. Thanks for the pointers.
