Reporting/Requesting Media to Plex Admin

Reporting media would allow for Plex home users and plex friends (that use the shared library) to report and request to add/remove/change media to the Plex admin.

To elaborate more onto which feature means what with break down to each media type:

Also, if the admin has dealt with the report/request, the admin could message back the person who requested it and allow them to know what the current status of the request. Kind of like a support ticket but for plex media and response are done my messages to the Plex admin.

Hopefully that provides enough information into what the idea entitles. I’ve had family tell me that a movie is wrong, error with media, no in library, etc and it would save me a great amount of time if there was an area in plex to handle all of the requests.

have you seen Plex Requests ?

I tried looking so I would find a duplicate but I guess I missed that one. Oops, haha. Thanks for that

I like the sound of this, something native would be better

Yes, something native is way better.

i’d like request able integrated inside plex. not a 3rd party app. not sure if im too noobie but i cant get plex requests to work. i already have plexpy & sonarr though would love if those were actual features in plex. most of my managed users are worse than a hampster at tech stuff. needs to be easy and no more late night texts “can i see <put name of show/movie here> on plex”?

That is very true. Something built right into plex would be amazing!

I would like something that would give clients the option to report media as erroneous. ie if the media stops playing abruptly at a particular point the user can report that media and the admin will be notified and can go about fixing the issue.

@tazire I know what you mean. I kind of mean it as a ticket/direct chat with the Plex admin. It would be a great feature. Instated of people trying to get hold of my by some means, I can just open up Plex and it’s all there

Exactly what I was looking for! This should be native. As the ecosystem is already there it should be hopefully easily possible to be done with an framework or something like that and an optional imdb agent that could interact with the search function of plex…
… Saves really much work and you need less time administrating / maintaining your plex chest.
I don’t want to walk through hundreds of items to find errors in my libraries! Too time expensive!

I specifically would like to be able to report problems with transcoding, playing, syncing, and incorrect matches. There should be an ability to send an email to the admin with each report along with a queue in the web admin interface, and each media file that’s “reported” should have a visual indicator on it in the various interfaces as well (no sense in multiple people reporting the same issue, and it makes sense to TELL everyone that an issue has been reported before they try to watch).

Anyone who is not the owner of the server should have an option to request new movies or tv shows to be added to the server and the owner should have a panel to view these suggestions and deny or confirm them.

Suggestion:
a button in the app that when pressed will open a form that records the user name and allows them to submit a request to the server admin to add media such as movies, tv shows, or music, etc, as well as other content such as subtitles, media of a different quality, etc.

once submitted, the form could be sent to either the internal activity log or to an external email address. this could even be part of the feature itself, allowing the server admin to choose their own preference.

currently, myself as well as many other users, are using plugins such as Ombi (which require a fair amount of setup and Maintenace of multiple apps), third party programs, such as discord, or just good old-fashioned phone calls/SMS. Integrated functionality would make the whole process much more streamlined and eliminate the need for a third-party.

You might want to look into the option to report issues.
