Thank you!
Thank you!
+1 if possible, would love an alternative to TheTVDB. They have begun to change the way episodes are created, differently from how the shows themselves name episodes, as such, many of my series (primarily kids shows) are messed up in PMM. For any show where an episode contains two, distinct 15 min parts, TheTVDB is now splitting that one episode into 2...
That's actually always been their policy: they always split according to storyline. It's just that users who enter stuff sometimes don't follow the rules, so you may have seen it the other way, but it's not something they've just begun doing. I actually prefer it for things like Dexter's Laboratory, but it gets a little insane when a 45-second Animaniacs segment is considered an episode. Anyway, tvrage wouldn't be a solution for your problem, because more often than not, they split episodes by storyline too.
But I do have a workaround for you, although it won't work for every show. If a show has data entered in the DVD Order, it's usually like 3.1, meaning the first segment in episode 3. My DVD Order agent will combine the data from 3.1 and 3.2 and call that episode 3. Unfortunately, it relies on the DVD order, so if something's not out on DVD yet, it won't work.
actually that isn't true, as a user on their forums pointed out. in fact, their wiki says exactly the opposite, it says it is to be listed by episode. But that's neither here nor there.
That said, can you further explain this DVD order thing? May i ask what is the My DVD Order agent, where do i get it, and how to i only assign it for use with some shows? Thanks in advance.
nevermind, found it, thanks!
Yeah, I saw you had been posting over there after I posted that here. Their wiki is not very clear is the main problem.
The DVD Order Agent thread is here: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/21141-dvd-order-agent/
Edited to add: Ha! Yeah, it’s not hard to find.
thanks, so i installed it and a couple things:
- worked on first season of Angry Beavers, not the other seasons
- didn’t work on Fairly OddParents at all.
- Now when i click on ‘match using’ only your agent shows up, TheTVDB agent no longer does, is that normal?
its pretty infuriating because 1) i spent a lot of time following their rules on their wiki updating all of these shows and then 2) to wake up one morning, see my database dorked, then be told that they don’t care what other people think and that’s the way it is even though it contradicts their own wiki…
1 & 2: Well, like I said, it relies on the DVD Order field being filled in at the tvdb.
3: Since thetvdb agent is the default one, it won’t show up in that list at first. If you’re trying to revert back to the default, select “Unmatch”, and then “Match Using” should allow you to choose thetvdb.
Ah. Thanks on all counts.
