Hi,
Plex sometimes shows an alphabetical A…Z navigation guide for some of my libraries. But other times, this useful UI element is missing.
Please provide persistent, per-device settings to control how the alphabetical navigation element displays:
- Always Show
- Always Hide
- Automatic
Currently, the alphabetical nav element is completely missing from general type libraries. It appears for movie category libraries but not all other kinds.
Not true.
It is always shown, if
- there are more than a few items in the library, so that you will have to scroll to see them all
- the library view is sorted by Title
That’s exactly why I’m posting. I do not like the sometimes maybe aspect of the UX. Just give us options to always show / always hide.
To always show the letters doesn’t work, if the library is sorted by anything other than by Title.
These letters are not just decorative.
They are intended as a means to quickly jump (in larger libraries) to titles beginning with e.g. letter M.
There is no purpose for that, if the library is not sorted by title, as clicking on one of these index letters would not send you to all titles beginning with that letter.
