Hoping that we can show the actual number of us who would prefer a return to the previous UI. I feel this new one is nonintuitive and it does not feel good that accessing my own media is more difficult and media i have no desire to be exposed to is being put front and center. Im aware this isnt a democratic process however as a paying user with six Roku’s and four family members, we do not like this experience and want to roll back very much.
I was panicking and wanting to cry and scream. The new UI sucks and looks like ■■■■. When you click on the libraries tab at the top it just brings you out of Plex and into Roku’s main screen. I had to get Jellyfin to have something that is somewhat normal. If Plex doesn’t revert back to the original UI that was on Roku…i will have no choice but to remove Plex and stick with Jellyfin. SMDH!
Sadly, I don’t think Plex cares, but instead hopes that by burying your media library their customers will succumb to bad-design and start using their “bundled” steaming options instead.
Someone in Marketing somehow thinks their largely tech-savvy customer base will collectively shug and accept the changes rather than seek out alternatives.
Personally, I’ve decided to do just that.. I’ll keep the Plex apps on my streaming and mobile devices for a month and hope for a sudden outbreak of common sense. At the one month mark if it’s still this level of awful, I’ll uninstall them all and remove the server software, as well. I suspect others will act similarly, which will give them more precise metrics of how bad of an idea this was,
I’m with you brother!
