I would gladly welcome a better support for audio books in Plex. This should include support for m4b files and saving of the audiobooks progress.
Right now it is possible to create another music section and label it audiobooks. This will work quite good if the files are mp3s. And if one groups one book as an album it is possible to have the individual tracks represent the chapters.
The downside to this is that the progress is not stored and that there is no support for m4b files that already include all the information about the chapters within themselves. Also there could be added another metadata agent that has data more specific to audiobooks.
For my iTunes Library I have gone through the trouble of compressing my audiobook into m4b files to have a clean and organized library and I would be very happy if Plex would be able to play them back so that I don't have to go through all of them to unpack them again.
