And I actually take my words back again....rethinking here.....
People that wants to do it manually, are mostly IT nerds...
As such, I guess it's a bit easier for us to disable it, that it is for a novice to enable it....
As such, I instead opt for Plex to put this in the release not, that it's enabled by default
/T
That was probably how Elan thought it out .... We are the few and not the masses.. But it needs to be a trouble free process. The silent bundle updates process is NOT trouble free and things do go wrong.
Came to the forum exactly to request this. I don't care too much about updating Plex from the Web interface, even though it would be a neat feature, but a notification when a new release is made available would be necessary imo. Either in the Web interface or perhaps, if requested, even via email.

i get e-mail notifications now by following each of the forums I am interested in within the Release Announcements section

Fair enough, the email notification thing can be avoided then (I know I wouldn't use it anyway). Some kind of notification in the Web interface should be there though, we shouldn't assume that every Plex user is following the forum.

Plex is not a product that you can implement without visiting the support pages or the forums.
It is a notification that you setup once and forget about it.
Anyway, we know that the Plex Team are working on this area as there have been changes in recent releases.

Well, neither the support pages nor the forums are necessary to get started with Plex if we want to be precise, so I don't understand why you are saying that they are. I know I didn't use any of those when I set my server up for the first time. In addition, subscribing to the forums to get updates on new releases should really not be necessary today, where pretty much every app has in-app update notifications built in. I just thought it would be one of those basic 1.0 features to have in place.
