When Plex presents the count of items in collections, it always says “X movies.” However, the library may house TV episodes, short clips, or otherwise non feature length presentation material.
Would like to see more neutral language there. Instead of saying “movies” for collection counts, perhaps “videos”, “entries”, or even omitting words entirely, would encourage a more accurate experience across different multimedia experience types.
What is the library type where you’re seeing this? My experience is that for a “Movies” library it shows “N Movies.” And for a “TV Shows” library it shows “N Shows.” Or, in the library view, depending on filtering, it will show “N items.”
I think this is specific to “Other Videos” libraries. I’m seeing X movies/X shows in the library tab as expected for movie and TV libraries, but “Other Videos” libraries do show X movies (only when in the library view though, the Collections tab shows X items).
Assuming that’s the case, I agree that it seems reasonable to have Other Videos libraries have a more generic term in the library tab instead of “movies”.
