Requesting refresh of Plex metadata database after mass update on TMDB

I updated ~1700 external IDs (TVDB IDs and IMDB IDs) on TMDB to make sure they are all linked together correctly. I am hoping someone at Plex can trigger a refresh for all the following shows for the Plex TV Series agent.

My script is here if anyone want to audit the guids in their own TV show libraries. I dumped all the guids in my library to a JSON file which I then imported into Excel to look for missing guids. Then it’s a matter of “manually” updating the external IDs on TMDB with the correct values.

Thanks, nearly everything has propagated down to Plex.

There are these episodes that still seem to be duplicated/incorrect in the Plex database. Note that all of these episode have the correct TVDB ID entered on The Movie Database.

  1. Episodes which have the same season/episode number between TMDB and TVDB. Pretty straight forward that these should be linked together.

In addition to having the correct external links two episodes must also have the same release date in order for them to be linked together. It’s an extra precaution we added in place due to far too many incorrect TVDB ids that the TMDB episodes were linked to. We might loosen up that rule a bit in the future and accept release dates that are close to each other, but for right now they need to be the same date for them to be linked.

Thanks for the info.

I have updated some of the air dates on The Movie Database and TheTVDB (at least the ones that are not controversial). I will wait a few days to see if they propagate down to Plex.

My changes have propegated down to Plex. I will have to leave the outstanding items because of conflicts between the two sites on air dates.
