Season 11 of paw patrol keeps pulling bad meta data from TMDB:
It keeps pulling episode 15 as " Pups Save Humdinger’s Home Away from Home" and 16 as " Air Rescue: Pups Save a Hum-stronaut". It should be “Pups Save the Baddies” and " Pups Save the Yumi Bee".
Unfortunately, this is one of those shows that is going to be a nightmare with plex and its consolidated metadata approach. Reason being is that IMDB, TMDB and TVDB all have different running orders and episode listings.
My only recommendation (which will be a fair bit of work) would be to start at tmdb and for each and every episode add an external id to its corresponding episode at tvdb. One of the ways plex links episodes together between sites is using these external ids at tmdb. So, having linkage at tmdb to tvdb may help link them better than they are now within plex which is likely causing the metadata to get all messed up.
Currently, from what I can see they are missing, at least they are for season 11 …
EDIT: I’ve gone and added the missing tvdb external ids at tmdb. Give it 48/72 hours for plex to pickup the changes and see if it helps things.
I’m not sure why that would matter. My library is set to use TMDB for episode order, so regardless of them being linked plex should know what the name of each episode should be. I think the Plex data just needs to be refreshed. It’s also not pulling the images from TMDB. I think the order was changed on TMDB and plex just hasn’t synced in a few weeks.
for example episode 16 has , but when I look on TMDB the id is actually 5651079
5651073 is not episode 18
Either way I updated TMDB with the external IDs.
That is only episode ordering, not metadata. With the new modern plex agent / scanner you cannot scrape data from a single location, they consolidate from multiple sources. All you control is the episode ordering but if the ids are missing at tmdb linking it to tvdb, plex can mix-up what episode is what within the master consolidated data.
Plex has the wrong TMDB id associated to that episode number. Episode 16 should be 5651079, but plex has 5651073. 5651073 should be episode 18. I’m only double stating this because you replied while I was editing my other message.
You may want to try refreshing metadata for that series again; I just added a couple of dummy files for the episodes mentioned to a test library and it pulled the correct info (per TMDB episode ordering):
If that doesn’t work, the Plex Dance may.
Thanks, refreshing the individual episode didn’t work, but refreshing the entire show did…
