Genuinely confused by all this. Running DVR does not require running the beta. I don’t run beta versions. The version required after June 30 is not even available yet. Presumably it will be released prior to June 30? Why would they require a certain version to be run on such short notice and it isn’t even available yet. Head scratcher.

I think pretty much what’s being said is for this particular release you do need to install the beta.
Or wait for that beta to become public.
Which is piss-poor software development/product management, which is, unfortunately, something we have come to expect from Plex.

Well maybe or maybe not, but not particularly confusing I didn’t think.
I lose a critical piece of functionality unless I install a beta? That can’t possibly be the case. I mean, it can’t be, right? 
As far as being confusing, it may not be for you, but it is for me. This is not something even remotely normal for software with the maturity level of Plex.

It will be released publicly probably on Monday.
The Plex Pass version is always a beta. One of the requests when Plex Pass came out was to let Plex Pass users have the option to use betas which may have new functionality or fixes early if they want to. The public is usually released from few days to a week or so later but depends on bunch of things like finding most of the issues with the changes. Sometimes another beta gets released because of issues that may make it not ready for public.
That makes total sense. The very narrow window between public release and when that update must be installed is very odd.

Since 1.16 breaks so much dont be in a hurry to get it.
So, anyone able to able update 1.16.1 on Nvidia Shield yet? Google Play on Shield and using browser from desktop both show I’m up-to-date running 1.16.0.1126.
Really, since 1.15…
Still no 1.16.1 for the Shield.
Is the PVR just going to die in 4 days for Shield users?
