Server Version#:1.16.2.1297
Player Version#:various
Country: Australia
Platform: Windows 8.1 [yes, I need Plex DVR to be perfect to retire MS MediaCenter and upgrade to win10]
DVR: Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD
I didn’t update my guide to to IceTV / XMLTV before the 1 July deadline. Now when I click on “Live TV & DVR” in Plex Web App I get a message “Unable to load DVRs”. After about 10s the “Set up Plex DVR” screen appears above the “Unable to load DVRs” If I click on the set up button it goes into a never ending searching for DVRs loop.
Just had this issue too. Are we sure it’s a version issue? This was working just fine about 30 minutes ago, and I haven’t touched plex… Can we get an official response to this asap??Plex Media Server Logs_2019-07-08_19-57-48.zip (3.6 MB)
And indeed rolling back to this version worked(from the thread):
plexmediaserver-1.16.0.1226-7eb2c8f6f.x86_64 ← Working
plexmediaserver-1.16.1.1246-1d09ac057.x86_64 ← No DVR
What I ended up doing was rolling back - removing the DVR - updating the server and then re-adding the DVR - since then updates have managed to stick ok.
What this does of course is force the use of a 3rd party EPG - something that one of the Plex employees claims should not have affected Aus users - he has since gone awol… or unable to back that claim up.
Has anyone found any other solution to this, than downgrading? I really do not wish to uninstall my Plex, to re-install an older version. Worried of library settings loss, as I don’t want to redo all my libraries and settings.
Plex, can we have acknowledgement of this issue? How long until official fix?
I can still see my DVR but recordings that are scheduled do not appear to be scheduled in the guide. As such, there have been some missed recordings and doesn’t even appear in the logs. Has anyone else experienced this?
I use unraid, and have plex setup in a docker. So I just changed the version back to what i posted above and applied. It downloaded the older version, and it loaded just fine on the old version. Not sure how your setup is, but using docker seems to be pretty nice these days.
Heads up for anyone on Windows. Uninstalling Plex, from Add/Remove Programs, will NOT delete any of your configuration or data. Only the application.
I was able to uninstall 1.16.2 and then reinstall, from the Updates directory, to version 1.16.0.1226 without losing anything at all. Live TV once again working.
I removed my Homerun, upgraded to 1.16.2.1297, and added Homerun back in and all is well. All my scheduled recordings were not deleted, when I removed the tuner, so no additional work was needed. Just reselect your channels, if you didn’t have all of them selected before.
Side note: Although I am glad that Plex keeps a copy of the older versions, in the Updates directory, I just figured out there are 9.5GB of update files in my Updates directory. From 0.9.11.11 to 1.16.2.1297.
121 versions all together!! Plex, wouldn’t keeping the last 3 be enough and have your installer delete older versions automatically?
Same boat. Running PMS Version 1.16.1.1291 on Ubuntu 18.04 and my LiveTV has $h!t the bed. Can’t tune channels and can’t re-add the tuner. After selecting my channels, the “select” or “update” button (not cancel button) just has the spinning circle over it.
