Resolved - [SHIELD TV] Plex won't find any tv show

Hi

I have a Synology DS216+ on which I have my medias (movies and tv show) and a plex server running on it and everything is ok.
I bought a Shield TV and decided to use the internal plex server.
So I added the Syno into the Shield so that it can read files on the syno.
I created new libraries on the shield Plex server and for the movies everything is ok.
But when I tried to crate a library for TV shows, no item are displayed (plex indicates that there are no items in this library).

I checked and plex server can access the files (I created a library with type “Other” and the elements are displayed).
I also checked the directory structure (I made a test with anoter folder containing only one season of a tv show (TV\Show\Season\files…).

Can someone help me on this ?

Thanks

Update: 28-JUL-18

The 24-JUL-18 patch update (same version number as before) resolved the library scans not adding new items to the library.

Unfortunately, I tried to move the database to the internal accessible storage around/during this time (which I was told that it was successful — it wasn’t — looks like a different bug) wherein I lost the database; not sure if the loss was due to the patch update or me trying to move the database. With all that said and done, the ratings and watch/un-watched status of my library was lost.

Update: 23-JUL-18

Looks like the devs are aware of the issue. No word yet on when a patch will be issued.

Would you also please share the following:

  • Shield TV Version (1st Gen. or 2nd Gen.?)
  • Android TV Version (8.0 - Oreo?)
  • Turn on Debugging in Plex (Leave Verbose Off!!)
The developers may ask for the debug log.
  • Re-run the scan on the library. Wait ~30 seconds for the logs to catch up. Then download the logs and have them ready to submit once requested by a dev.

I’m having the same issue. There was an update pushed July 19, 2018 to Version 1.13.4.5271 and I’ve noticed that two episodes that I’ve added to my HD (that’s attached to the Nvidia Shield TV) since the update, are not being added to the Plex Library.

I’ve checked the naming scheme and folder hierarchy to make sure everything is okay — everything is in compliance.

If @mhazebroucq is on the latest Plex Media Server on Shield TV, then perhaps it is a bug then.

I’m posting my logs with limited time access at:

How to Enable Debugging & Download Logs

  1. Log into your Plex server via PC & Web Browser
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Click Server
  4. Click Show Advanced
  5. Check box Enable Plex Media Server debug logging
    DO NOT enable VERBOSE Logging!!
  6. Click Save Changes
  7. Re-trace the steps to reproduce the error
  8. Wait ~30 seconds for the logs to finish capturing the error
  9. Go back to Settings > Server > Help
  10. Click Download Logs
  11. Repeat Steps 2 – 6 to Disable Debug Logging

I think we’re all having the same problem since the update. Refer to the threads linked below. The problem seems to stem either from a programming error or a missing dependency:

Having the same issues. Won’t recognize new files. reset my TV Shows folder to try and start over, and nothing. It’s empty and says there are no files in the folder. So annoying. It was working fantastic prior to this last update.

I have had the same problem with my movie library. I have deleted all the PMS updates and it worked again. Downside, I have to start from scratch… :frowning:

Hello guys same thing here. However I just did an update from the play store and the issue was solved :stuck_out_tongue:
Thx to the dev team !
