Restore watch history after a reinstall

Server Version#:1.20.2.3402
Player Version#:

So my computer crashed this morning, there was an error with the disk drive. I added another disk drive from an old computer and this solved the problem and the computer was running again. While all of my files and programs have remained untouched, plex showed an error “plex media server was unable to open its media database” so I figured all the app data is still there if I reinstall plex I should be good. All the Metadata for the TV shows and movies loaded up quickly with no problems but my watch history is gone for all users. Is there anyway I can fix this from a backup of the App data that i made or from the original program files that plex doesn’t seem to be picking up?

Watched history is saved in the database. I’m unclear how you were able to restore your metadata by reinstalling PMS. If the database couldn’t be opened, then either the database is missing, in which case PMS should have automatically created one, or if the file was there but couldn’t be read, the problem should still exist after reinstalling PMS.

If all your metadata for your content worked, then the watched history should also be there. The only reason they wouldn’t be there is if you claimed this new server with a different Plex account. Can you provide more details on exactly what you did?
