Restoring old Plex server but with new unwanted name

Hello everyone,
I restored a Plex Server to a new Windows PC following this guide: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/

I can now see my old server but this is appearing as a “new” one with all the old info.

My old server was named “Simonflix”, but after the restore process it appears with the name of the PC (Simone Server) leaving the good old one as “Unavailable”.
But I want to use it with the old name “Simonflix”, keeping the shared guest setting etc…

How can I fix this?

  1. Clear the old server from here https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/devices/pms
    (make sure to clear only the old server)
  2. go to Settings - Server - General and change the ‘Friendly name’ of your new server to whatever you like
