Restoring/refreshing playlists

So. Using current versions of Plex server on Mac and player on iPhone. After initial import from iTunes playlists in Plex often did not reflect changes in iTunes playlists (or creation/deletion of playlists), even after full refresh/scan. I got brilliant and deleted playlists from iPhone (player), tried to re-import them. Nope- playlists show and function on server (mac) but playlist menu on player (iPhone) says no items. Deleted app, restarted phone, re-installed Plex, still no playlists. Oddly, when using player (not server) on Mac, playlists exist and function. So is there a cache i’m not finding on the phone? Or what?
