Scenario: I could set Johnny’s Roku TV to only allow his account, and Sally’s Roku TV to only allow her account. Same for their tablets. This would negate the need for them to remember passcodes and make it harder to use the other’s account.
The default functionality would still remain - a new/un-set Authorized Device can be accessed by any account.
If you don’t want some of your users to be able to use “Fast User Switching”, make them create their own, personal plex.tv accounts.
Sign in their devices to these accounts.
Then share your libraries with these accounts, without adding them into your Plex Home.
Would like the ability to limit certain LAN IPs or devices to only access a single Plex account or block certain accounts from being accessed from certain devices or IPs . Children can easily figure out that they can select another user to watch content they should not have access to.
I would like to be able to edit an Authorized Device so it can only access a single account. I just want the grandkids to only be able to access the Kids account on the family room TV. It can either come up with Kids as the only account or the device goes directly to Home for that account.
This, and, I would like to be able to IP/geolock a users account, not just devices. Too many times people share their account login and suddenly 1 person is using my Plex from 3 different states or countries even.
I have never before found a good use for that tool and so I tend to forget about it, but it probably would help. And you’re right, they should be removed.
