Is there a logistical reason that items I start playing from my Watchlist don’t appear in my Continue Watching xmb on my Home screen? If I don’t finish a movie, I have to either search for it or browse through the Watchlist again and start it from there. Surely this isn’t intended behavior, right? Thanks for any suggestions, confirmation, or solutions!
If you start watching something that is in your Watchlist and on a Plex Media Server you have access to and the library where that movie/episode is located is also favorited, then that partially watched movie/episode should definitely be showing up in your Continue Watching. The same is true if you started watching from the Plex ad support video on demand catalog.
Where are you watching this movie from in your example? If it’s on another streaming service, Plex won’t know anything about your watch history or duration from another service.
My watchlist only contains items in my personal library on my Plex server, not from any streaming services. Now I did try something after you mentioned this. I have two Plex servers. I only have items pinned from server 1, although I have full access to both servers. The watchlist items were added from server 2. If I pin the library from server 2, it DOES appear in my Continue Watching xmb. What I’d like is that no matter what library I start watching from, for it to appear in the Continue Watching xmb without having to pin the other library. Is that not possible?
No. Continue Watching is built based on what is favorited.
Thanks for clarifying. I’d ask then for consideration to modify that behavior. IMO, “Continue Watching” should display unfinished media regardless of where the playback started. Or maybe consider adding that as an advanced option.
