I have 4 kids devices (fire tablets) and generally have to sync the same content across all devices. I don’t think the converted content is reused if same quality sync carried out on the separate devices. Surely there is a way to do this so things don’t have to be done 4x
This could also be done by pre converting (as if for streaming) and reusing that file?
I’m not sure I understand the issue… when you sync it downloads a copy to the device for offline viewing right? You’ll have to do that for each device you want offline content on - that’s unavoidable.
As for conversion, I’m also not able to understand why it’s necessary except for streaming limitations. An offline file is stored locally and you can have the unconverted version for that. But I’ve never had to convert any files. I’ve got over 10,000 movies, all MP4’s and in all the years of viewing/“syncing”/streaming… there’s never been any conversion of anything. What file format are you using?
I know MKV is better quality, but really MP4’s are good enough especially for smaller devices. and if I really need bluray/4k quality… I’ll just purchase the high-quality disc and use the player for the 80" tv 
The MP4’s don’t look that bad on the big screen to me, but I grew up in the 70’s with rabbit-ear antenna TV too so I guess I’m not as spoiled as those younger than myself lol.

Well yes but it persists a copy in the PMS file system and for 4 kids this is 4x XGB. All that needs to be done is a configured storage location for persisting converted files (if you want to persist) so that future/ multi syncing or streaming (specifically remotely) won’t have to transcode if a matched quality exists.

That’s the reason for my my feature request, it’s time wasted that could be avoided.
