Reverse the "On Deck" order

First off, I love the “On Deck” list. My wife a I watch more than a dozen shows, and this places all of them in the order that they were watched, only in Reverse. Let me explain.

Typically, we open PLex, and there on the top row is On Deck with the show we want to watch. On the left is the last show watched. You then have to scroll all the way to the farthest Right to get to the show we haven’t seen in a wile. Get my drift?

How can I reverse this On Deck queue so that the most recent watched is to the right, and oldest to the left?

You can’t. This list is set to always show in descending order.

I’ve created a Feature Request for this, Link below:

Please Vote for this suggestion! :grinning:

I have my on deck set to 100 weeks as I have dozens of shows I watch.

I agree with having the reverse option ( I have voted)

The newest episode go in recently added section so that part is covered!

MovieFan.Plex,

As a “Plex Team Member” can you please explain Why? Descending order makes absolutely no sense to me, and I’m sure many others.

The idea for descending (newest first) is if you just stopped something and wanted to get back to it soon, it should be the first thing available. If it was reverse ordered with the oldest, then anytime you don’t finish something, it will be added at the end of the list and it would take a lot more time and effort to find that item.

I agrees with Movieplexfan it makes sense the way it is for those who only watch part of the show or if they happen to have a entire season of the show you are able to continue watching the next episode. I guess have the option to switch between the two would be best tho for those who prefer it.

I forgot to address that OnDeck is also used to list the next episode of a show after you’ve watched an episode. This allows for easily finding the next episode of a series you might be binge watching. Say you watched 2 episode of Game Of Thrones today, the next episode will be listed so you can watch tomorrow.

I can see where oldest first could be useful for a scenario where you don’t want to binge watch but instead watch shows in a particular order so watching one episode moves it to the end of the list to cycle back around after you’ve watched your other shows. I don’t know how common this use case is.

You are free to put in a feature request. I think having a ascending/descending option would be interesting.

I totally agree with your first paragraph.

This need is already covered, and much better done with “Continue Watching”.

I did put in a Feature Request a few days ago. Please Vote for it!

I believe on deck is just fine like it is BUT I can understand why others might want the backwards order. Because of that I think that there should be an option to reverse the order of on deck in any player. That should be an option or every player could implement the ability that the Roku has where you can move to the right end by moving off the screen to the left. That is on deck wraps.

This comes back to the LONG requested feature of turning selected hubs completely off. For me the ONLY thing I find of value in the hubs is on deck and, again for me, it would be better if it directly went where the more button takes you. For me really all hubs are worthless and just Plex wanting to control how media is to be viewed.

I love on deck . OK leave it like it is and give me a favourites right below.

So ALL the shows over the last 100 weeks are “in” my on deck.
(Depending on your player the number you can see in “on deck” varies)
So below “on deck” is "my favourites " or “my top 10” or similar.

As suggested give us options as to what rows to show or hide.
The new layout (Shield) with “play next” is really of no use to Plex users. - we have 'on deck" !
