Rewind, Pause, etc don't work as expected

Player Version#: 5.10.0

If I am watching an MKV file on my Samsung and I try to pause, or rewind to hear something I missed, more often than not nothing happens, and I get the yellow “thinking” symbol rotating in the centre of the screen for the remainder of the show. And if I go back to the home page and try to watch from where I left off, it always starts at the beginning. This has only been happening for the past several months and I don’t think I’m doing anything differently.

It’ll be important to understand on what exact Samsung platform (e.g. Samsung Smart Hub vs. Tizen) and Plex app version you’re experiencing this.

Thank you tom80H for the response. I have added the Player Version (5.10.0) to my original question, and will add that I’m on a Samsung Smart Hub device, not a Tizen.

In that Case you’re probably out of luck. That platform is getting quite dated and the app hasn’t been updated for some time.

So would using something like an Apple TV or a Chromecast solve the issue?

I only have recent personal experience with Plex on my Apple TV and those were positive w/ regards to your issue (=not experiencing any of those)

Your TV is using Tizen as its OS.
Therefore your app is not the old Orca app.
