I propose a new section type called a "Smart Section" which behaves much like iTunes' "Smart Playlist" feature. The content of these sections would be populated based a search query applied to other sections. Also, "Smart Sections" should be shareable just like a real section is today.
This would allow easy creation of audience targeted sections (Kids TV/Movies based on rating searches), content type sections (Sci-Fi, Action, Romance based Genre searches), Playback length (30min TV vs 60min TV shows), Favorites (5 star ratings), Categories based on description keywords, Domestic vs Foreign release, etc.
This can be the foundation for Parental Controls by only sharing relevant Smart Sections with kids. Or the foundation for selective sharing at other levels for those that must keep their media in one big directory. I can also imagine this feature being the foundation for more advanced PlexSync controls.
Finally an ability to show/hide sections from interfaces other than Plex/Web would be helpful so complex craftings of Smart Sections don't clutter the normal UI.
Sorry if this RFE already exists, forum search returns a database error at the time I wrote the above.
