As per the title, I have a problem whereby shows (a lot, not just one or two) are recording fully but not actually recording the whole thing. For example a 9 minute kids show which often (maybe 60% of the time) only records for 4-5 minutes. I wonder it the problem may be related to the times in the guide, as some do not 100% match the actual air time e.g. 7:40-7:45 for a 9 minute show. Though the times are the same on my YouView box, which doesn’t have the same problem and records the whole thing (I’m running both as I’ve found Plex DVR isn’t yet anywhere near reliable enough to ditch the Humax).
That’s just it, I’m not sure it is an EPG problem per se. As mentioned the times are the same on my Humax box, and Freeview on my TV for that matter.
I wonder if PlexDVR is not using accurate recording information, but relying solely on the EPG times? Whereas the YouView box (or any Freeview box for that matter) use accurate recording signals and hence don’t miss the ends.
As far as I know it 100% relies on the EPG times which has screwed me a few times when a show goes 5 minutes late and I miss the ending. I have only used Plex and MythTV and from my experience they both only rely on EPG times to schedule start and end of a recording.
