Roku 3 Plex app is VERY slow to load, if at all, since some trouble with my server. Everything seems to be working fine on my computer and even with my Android app… but, I cannot seem to get my Roku 3 Plex app to work properly, as it has been for the past year. I am at a total loss here. Please help! I am new to this forum, and forums in general really… I appreciate any and all help!
I’ve got a similar issue on my Roku 3, loading up a video takes a good 45 seconds now where it used to be almost instant. Fine from other devices.
No guarantee this will work, but when I suspect my Roku is taking a little too long to load, I use the"Optimize Database" from Plex Web. It might take some time if it hasn’t been optimized for a while. There doesn’t seem to be any indication anything is happening until it pops up with a message indicating the process has completed.

It starts pulling the video gets to 13% then sits there for 20 seconds, moves to 33% for 20 seconds and then takes another 5 seconds to start playing.This started with the last Roku app update.
It appears to be slower for me too. I can’t even watch anything with a bit rate of 5 MB/s without it taking forever to buffer and stopping frequently to buffer. I thought it was a slow wifi issue, but maybe not.
Mines on a gigabit lan and it used to work great but these recent changes have really impacted on performance. Plex home theatre on Windows works fine as does Plex on Android but it’s all screwed up on Roku
Turning off secured connections fixed this.
I have two Roku 3’s and after the last update to Roku there both slow. The movies buffer on startup and set at 30% for about 18.5 seconds and while the movies pause and buffer and then start. Both units have same issue. This seems to coincide with the last update. I’m sure that its not wise to have Secure Connection Disabled, but I tried all 3 settings and did not see any difference. Both load slow and remain that way. Hope For a Fix HELP

Did this issue get resolved? I’m having issues with my Roku 3 and Roku 2. Up until a few months ago playback was instant! Once the video loads there is no buffering, it is just loading times.

After I rebuilt the libraries and had a fresh install, everything seems to be working. I’ve not been using my Roku3 in a while, as I have moved and have not needed it. Thanks to all for the suggestions!
